RICE KRISPIES – Easter Egg Dipper Treats

Here’s a cute, easy idea I found on the Rice Krispies website for a nice Easter treat.

Ingredients
1/4 cup     margarine or butter
1 pkg     250 g (about 40) regular or 5 cups (1.25 ml) miniature marshmallows
6 cups     RICE KRISPIES cereal
1-1/2 cups     semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
5 tsp     shortening
    Multi-coloured sprinkles

Preperation
  1. In large saucepan, melt margarine over low heat.  Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.  Remove from heat.
  2. Add cereal.  Stir until well coated.
  3. Using 50 ml (1/4-cup) measuring cup coated with cooking spray, divide warm cereal mixture into 24 portions. U sing lightly greased hands, shape each portion into egg shapes.  Place on baking sheets lined with wax paper. Cool.
  4. In small saucepan, combine chocolate chip and shortening.  Cook over low heat until melted, stirring constantly.
  5. Dip bottoms of cereal eggs into chocolate.  Decorate with sprinkles.  Place back on wax paper and refrigerate until chocolate is firm. Individually wrap in plastic wrap.
  6. MICROWAVE METHOD: In microwave-safe bowl, heat margarine and marshmallows on HIGH for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes. Stir until smooth. Follow steps 2 through 5 above. Microwave cooking times may vary.

Arby’s Sauce Recipe

My most favourite thing about Arby’s is their sauce.  Hmmm!  I make the sauce at home and use it for sandwich for lunches.  Here’s the recipe so you can make it at home yourself.  Enjoy!

Ingredients:

1 cup ketchup
2 teaspoons water
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon original flavour Tabasco sauce

Directions:

1.   Put all of the ingredients into a saucepan.  At a medium heat setting, constantly stir while cooking the sauce until it begins to boil.  This will usually take about 8 minutes.

2.   After, remove from the heat and let it completely cool.

This will keep in the fridge, in a closed container, for roughly two months.

Makes 1 cup

Best Tuna Casserole Recipe Ever!

I’m not a huge fan of fish, let alone canned fish. I guess you could call me a fish snob! I think it’s the smell more than anything but I’ve come across the best tuna casserole recipe ever that puts all those issues aside.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of Campbell’s Cream of Mushroom Soup;
  • 1 cup of milk;
  • 2 cans of tuna, drained;
  • 2 cups of frozen broccoli pieces (however, this can be substituted for other vegetables like     mixed veggies or just peas, whatever you prefer);
  • 4 cups of cooked penne noodles (however, I’ve seen macaroni noodles being used); and
  • Pepper to taste.

Directions:

  1. Preheat your over to 400°F.
  2. Mix all the ingredients into a 2-quart size casserole dish, at least.
  3. Bake for 30 minutes.

This is very yummy.  Enjoy!

FREE Wireless Mouse

I’m currently looking for a new laptop so I’ve been doing a lot of searching on various sites for good deals.  I’ve mostly been looking at sites that give you some sort of rewards for purchasing with them (ie., eBates or Airmiles).  While I was doing some searching this afternoon, I came across this deal for a FREE mouse, after mail-in rebate.

Follow the link to go to the TigerDirect.ca website and you’ll find the opportunity to purchase a Logitech Wireless Mouse in Dusty Rose for $19.97.  The directions are easy to follow to obtain a mail-in rebate for $20.  You’ll still have to pay for the shipping so depending on what that will cost to get to your place, this may not be such a great deal.  The shipping for me only cost $5.95.  I don’t think I’d find a better deal elsewhere.
