Turkey Pumpkin Chilli Recipe

I found this great recipe from Today’s Parent website.  I’m not a huge fan of the traditional chili but love turkey.  I tried this and can’t get enough of it now.

What You Will Need:

–   2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil

–   1 small yellow onion

–   1 green bell pepper

–   2 cloves garlic

–   1 lb ground white meat turkey

–   398 mL can diced tomatoes

–   398 mL can pumpkin puree

–   1 cup water

–   1 Tbsp chili powder

–   1 tsp ground cumin

–   1/2 tsp cinnamon

–   1/2 tsp turmeric

–   398 mL can chickpeas

What You Will Need to do:

1.   In a large pot, warm the oil on medium-low heat.

2.   Add the garlic, onion and green pepper.

3.   Cook until tender, about 5 minutes.

4.   Add the ground turkey and cook until browned.

5.   Pour in water, pumpkin, tomatoes, chili powder, cinnamon, cumin, turmeric, and salt and pepper to taste, and bring to a boil.

6.   Bring the heat down to medium low and then add the chickpeas.

7.   Cover and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

About Dino
There are many things that I love to do. One of those things is crafts! If I could find a job that involved crafts and being able to pay the bills, I'd be all over it! I've also found a great love for cooking and baking in the past few years. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to be able to fully get into cooking and baking to the degree that I would like to. I've also found myself making a HUGE effort to save my family money. I'm still a beginner but I'm surprised at how many different ways I've found to save money, including starting to use coupons! I hope you enjoy all that I'm about to share.
