Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Scones Recipe

Chocolate Cherry Oatmeal Scones

Here is a recipe for a great holiday treat.  I can only image how much of hit this would be on Christmas morning.

What You Will Need:

–   2 cups of flour

–   ¾ cup of rolled oats

–   1 tsp of baking soda

–   1 Tbsp of baking powder

–   3 Tbsp of brown sugar

–   ½ tsp of cinnamon

–   ½ tsp of salt

–   1/3 cup of dried cherries

–   1 egg

–   1/3 cup of semisweet chocolate chips

–   ½ cup of milk

–   6 Tbsp of butter

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Preheat your oven to 400°F.

2.   Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

3.   Mix the flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, cherries and chocolate chips in a bowl.

4.   In a separate bowl, mix the milk in egg.

5.   Gently blend the butter into the bowl with the dry ingredients.

6.   Now mix the milk and egg mixture into the other bowl.

7.   Place the dough into a flat, floured surface into roughly an 8” circle.

8.   Cut the dough into eight separate wedges, on to the baking sheet.

9.   Bake for about 15 minutes or until the scones have become golden brown.

About Dino
There are many things that I love to do. One of those things is crafts! If I could find a job that involved crafts and being able to pay the bills, I'd be all over it! I've also found a great love for cooking and baking in the past few years. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to be able to fully get into cooking and baking to the degree that I would like to. I've also found myself making a HUGE effort to save my family money. I'm still a beginner but I'm surprised at how many different ways I've found to save money, including starting to use coupons! I hope you enjoy all that I'm about to share.
