Chocolate Pretzel Cookies

This is basically a sugar cookie recipe that adds chocolate to the dough.  Hope you enjoy!

What You Will Need:

–   3 ½ cups of flour

–   ½ tsp of salt

–   1 cup of softened butter

–   2/3 cup of sugar

–   1 egg

–   1 Tbsp of light corn syrup

–   1 Tbsp of vanilla extract

–   1 oz of semi-sweetened chocolate

–   Coarse decorating sugar

What You Will Need to do:

1.   Preheat your oven to 375°F.

2.   In a bowl, mix the flour and salt together.

3.   In a separate bowl, cream the butter and sugar, stir in the egg, then the corn syrup and vanilla extract. One third at a time, add the flour mixture until thoroughly mixed.

4.   Pat the dough into two disks, wrap in plastic, and refrigerate for about an hour so it become firm.

5.   Mix in 1 ounce melted, slightly cooled unsweetened chocolate.  Use your hands to knead in the chocolate.

6.   Once the chocolate is mixed in well, roll a piece of the dough into a rope 16 inches long and 1/2 inch thick.  Form into a pretzel shape on a baking sheet, pressing the ends firmly.

7.   Sprinkle with sugar before baking for 12 to 14 minutes.

About Dino
There are many things that I love to do. One of those things is crafts! If I could find a job that involved crafts and being able to pay the bills, I'd be all over it! I've also found a great love for cooking and baking in the past few years. Sometimes there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to be able to fully get into cooking and baking to the degree that I would like to. I've also found myself making a HUGE effort to save my family money. I'm still a beginner but I'm surprised at how many different ways I've found to save money, including starting to use coupons! I hope you enjoy all that I'm about to share.
